TACHO

TACHO is Mirjam Landa’s black comedy about a successful Rally driver and his race of a lifetime. Alex cannot imagine life without Rally, devoting himself exclusively to it. After an accident during which his co-driver is seriously injured, and with the date of the most important race of the season inexorably approaching, Alex’s manager is desperately searching for a replacement co-driver. Alex wants to race at all costs, despite the explicit ban on driving imposed by his doctor. He has been racing for fifteen years, but the greatest achievement has always escaped him by a hair’s breadth. After a fated encounter with a girl, he surprisingly decides that she alone is to be his co-driver in this race of a lifetime –the totally inexperienced Lucy, also committed to victory. The German, Weber, Alex’s greatest rival, already sees himself as a winner. Also dreaming of victory are Slovakian adventurer, Jožo, and his new co-driver, Jula, whom he rescued from the clutches of the Mafia. English racing drivers, Charlie and Dave, are also practising intensely, albeit for something entirely different from Rally. Will this dramatic race have any winner at all? Indeed, life is about living every moment…

The movie TACHO, originally titled Touch the Rainbow, was filmed in May and June 2010 in Nitra, Slovakia, and in the Zlín and Prague areas of the Czech Republic. It stars Daniel Landa as Alex, with Olga Lounová as Lucie, and also features the actors Martin Havelka, Roman Pomajbo, Rudolf Hrušínský, Kamila Magálová, Rudolf Hrušínský Jr., and foreign actors, George Nicolas, Christopher Rithin, Julian Pindar, Timothy Otis, Robert Dern and others. The premiere of TACHO was on 2nd December 2010.

The soundtrack and official video clip for the song TACHO were launched with the movie.

DANIEL LANDA’S BLOG

At the end of 2009, 2LANDA Company prepared a series of short “reportages” about Daniel Landa for the TV Stream. The intention of this blog was to provide a glimpse into Dan’s real life, with special focus on his favourite activities of adrenalin sport and music. No one else contributed their opinions to the show, with the scenario solely based on Dan’s life and activities. Thanks to the blog, viewers could attend Rally Bohemia with Dan, dive with tiger sharks, get a backstage glimpse of the musical, The Secret of the Golden Dragon and watch preparations for the exclusive acoustic concert, Darkly Romantic Evening with Daniel Landa.

2006/2007

KVASKA (WONDER)

The topic of this film was born only about a month before work on the screenplay began. Originally, the movie was supposed to be a sort of “summer entertainment” for Director, Mirjam Landa and cameraman, Tomáš Kobolka. The story was roughly as follows: A prisoner escapes from prison to go to the theatre where his favourite actress is performing, and a relationship begins.

The screenplay was written very quickly. In mid-May of 2006, Mirjam Landa decided that it would be shot that summer. She started writing the screenplay, assuming that there would only be a few actors in the movie and it would be recorded on DVD. Actually, she had no ambition to produce the film for a wider audience, other than just her family.
However, in the course of working on the screenplay, it became apparent that the movie would be more than just summer entertainment. So, with a few pages of the screenplay in her hands, the screenwriter started hiring actors. The screenplay was completed on June 1, 2006.

In June 2006, a decision was made that the movie had the potential to be something more than just a home video. The approach to the film changed completely: “The film should be big, and the shooting will be big.” Casting and the search for sponsors continued. Hardly any professional believed that the shooting of this movie would actually begin. And nobody believed that it would be finished. The production crew agreed with the Kalich Theatre on a shooting schedule from August 16, 2006 to September 1, 2006, during the theatre’s holiday break. 17 days to shoot a musical movie, 90% of which takes place in a theatre, seemed an unbelievably short time, but it was the only option for finishing the movie that summer. The Director first called “Action!” on August 16, 2006, according to schedule.

The shoot was incredibly relaxed. Of course, every day’s filming lasted for at least 12 to 14 hours, but the crew and actors were extremely motivated and very well prepared from previous rehearsals. The musical part of the film was the most unnerving. The composer, Daniel Landa, had most of the songs ready, but it also happened that actors sometimes had to learn a few songs right before a scene was actually shot. Due to time constraints, the film crew could not afford any breaks.
Everybody knew that the daily schedule had to be strictly followed. It was not possible to shift any scene to another day. On September 1, 2006, after 17 days, filming was actually completed according to plan in the Kalich Theatre –followed by a two-day break. From September 4 to 6, 2006, exterior shooting continued. Prison scenes were shot in the former prison in Mladá Boleslav, as well as in the Ruzyne Prison. The hospital environment was provided by the Motol Hospital. On September 7, 2006 at 3am, the last scene was shot in the parking lot in front of the Motol Hospital.

Film Editor, Vasilis Skalenakis, started editing immediately after the last scene was shot, i.e. on September 7, 2006. He was under serious time pressure to keep to the original premiere date of November 23, 2006. Only 20 days were left for final editing. It seemed impossible, but the summary from the Black Cut cutting room was finally handed over to the Cinemasound Studio on September 23, 2006. After consultations with the distributor, a new premiere date was determined: February 22, 2007.

ŽENY ZA VOLANTEM (WOMEN BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL)

In 2005, 2LANDA produced a seven-part series for female drivers for the BESIP foundation. The series was called “ŽENY ZA VOLANTEM” and was aired by Ceská televize (Czech Television).

ŽENY ZA VOLANTEM (WOMEN BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL) ŽENY ZA VOLANTEM (WOMEN BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL) ŽENY ZA VOLANTEM (WOMEN BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL)

The purpose of this series was to boost the self-confidence of female drivers and to show them that it is possible to start driving competently at any age. The series also pointed out the most common problems on the road – parking, changing a tyre, restraint systems, crossroads, safe following distance, etc.

The series will certainly also appeal to women (and men) who drive often and are good and experienced drivers.
Why? Because this is not merely informative, but also a story which will capture the interest.

After two successful instructional films – “Bourá jen blb” (“Only an Idiot Crashes”) and “Auto je zbran” (“The Car is a Weapon”) – 2LANDA s.r.o. produced three educational-entertainment programmes for children, according to their level of knowledge, for the Malina Foundation in co-operation with BESIP (a Ministry of Transportation department), the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Department of Crime Prevention of the Ministry of the Interior and the Police of the Czech Republic:

BEZPEČNÁ CESTA (SAFE ROAD)

BEZPEČNÁ CESTA (SAFE ROAD)

This videotape for pre-school children first teaches young children a song about the principles of safe road crossing, which the heroine of the story subsequently verifies on her way home from Kindergarten with her mother. She also teaches these principles to her little monkey.

ČERVENÝ BLESK (RED LIGHTNING)

ČERVENÝ BLESK (RED LIGHTNING)

Children aged 6-12 years can look forward to the story of two brothers, in which the older brother gradually gets on to a slippery slope, and is not strong enough to handle the situation. Only his younger brother, advised by his fish friend and a real school friend, pulls the metaphorical emergency brake.

SOUTĚŽ (COMPETITION)

SOUTĚŽ (COMPETITION)

Youths aged 13-15 years old are represented in this story set in an ordinary classroom, in which students experience the common daily life of teenagers. A witty approach to the topic, using slang expressions typical of this age group, provides food for thought, not only for students themselves, but also for their parents.

These 30-minute films were distributed FREE to all Kindergartens and Primary Schools where they will serve, together with an accompanying programme prepared in collaboration with the Preventive Informational Group of the Czech Police Headquarters, as an effective and entertaining tool in traffic education.

Since October 2004, the above-mentioned educational films have been available FREE of charge at video rental stores.
