TACHO

TACHO is Mirjam Landa’s black comedy about a successful Rally driver and his race of a lifetime. Alex cannot imagine life without Rally, devoting himself exclusively to it. After an accident during which his co-driver is seriously injured, and with the date of the most important race of the season inexorably approaching, Alex’s manager is desperately searching for a replacement co-driver. Alex wants to race at all costs, despite the explicit ban on driving imposed by his doctor. He has been racing for fifteen years, but the greatest achievement has always escaped him by a hair’s breadth. After a fated encounter with a girl, he surprisingly decides that she alone is to be his co-driver in this race of a lifetime –the totally inexperienced Lucy, also committed to victory. The German, Weber, Alex’s greatest rival, already sees himself as a winner. Also dreaming of victory are Slovakian adventurer, Jožo, and his new co-driver, Jula, whom he rescued from the clutches of the Mafia. English racing drivers, Charlie and Dave, are also practising intensely, albeit for something entirely different from Rally. Will this dramatic race have any winner at all? Indeed, life is about living every moment…

The movie TACHO, originally titled Touch the Rainbow, was filmed in May and June 2010 in Nitra, Slovakia, and in the Zlín and Prague areas of the Czech Republic. It stars Daniel Landa as Alex, with Olga Lounová as Lucie, and also features the actors Martin Havelka, Roman Pomajbo, Rudolf Hrušínský, Kamila Magálová, Rudolf Hrušínský Jr., and foreign actors, George Nicolas, Christopher Rithin, Julian Pindar, Timothy Otis, Robert Dern and others. The premiere of TACHO was on 2nd December 2010.

The soundtrack and official video clip for the song TACHO were launched with the movie.

Musical - White Dalmatian

This tale, which Mirjam Landa has interpreted as a modern musical performance, is about an exceptional Dalmatian who, due to the envy of an evil witch, is deprived of his beautiful colourful spots and who, with the help of friends, travels to Fairyland in search of them. Thanks to the fact that the musical genre enables many stylising elements, all colours and materials are contemporary, as well as the musical adaptation (Hip-Hop, Street, as well as Classical) under the musical direction of Jan Maxián (“Nightwork”), with the purpose of entertaining both children and parents.

The intention of the direction is to differ from the usual productions for children’s theatre, by means of the dialogue which is based on contemporary child language, naturally without the use of vulgarisms. The audience can expect a witty, but also moving, story of friendship, joy and sorrow, with the moral of helping others. Director Mirjam Landa has placed great emphasis especially on dance. Due to the diversity of the dance acts, several young choreographers who have experience with different musical genres, have collaborated on the musical numbers.

The premiere of this unusual musical will take place on 28th September, 2009.

Musical - Desire

Musical “Desire” by Mirjam and Daniel Landa is loosely based on the hit film,”Kvaska”, by the same scriptwriting couple.
The story of the musical backstage underwent many significant changes in its transition from movie screen to theatrical stage, also there is a lot more music on stage than in the film. In addition, dance also plays a big role on stage. “I want “Desire” to be to a large extent a dance performance. I envisage scenes with purely dancing. That is why I am collaborating with choreographer, Pavel Strouhal, who is among the absolute top in our country," says Director and composer of the theme music and libretto, Mirjam Landa.
Actors are accompanied by a live band on stage, featuring the elite of Czech musicians.
The opening night of “Desire” was on 15th September, 2008.
