The White Dalmatian

This tale, which Mirjam Landa has interpreted in a modern musical performance, is about an exceptional Dalmatian who, due to the envy of an evil witch, is deprived of his beautiful colourful spots and who, with the help of his friends, travels to Fairyland in search of them. Thanks to the fact that the musical genre enables many stylising elements, all colours and materials are contemporary, as well as the musical adaptation (Hip-Hop, Street, as well as Classical) under the musical direction of Jan Maxián (“Nightwork”), with the purpose of entertaining both children and parents.

The intention of the direction is to differ from the usual productions for children’s theatre, by means of the dialogue which is based on contemporary child language, naturally without the use of vulgarisms. The audience can expect a witty, but also moving, story of friendship, joy and sorrow, with the moral of helping others. Director Mirjam Landa has placed particular emphasis on the dancing. Due to the diversity of the dance acts, several young choreographers, experienced in different musical genres, have collaborated on the musical numbers.

The premiere of this unusual musical was on 28th September, 2009.

Acting and Vocals: Vlasta Korec, Jana Fabiánová, Lucie Pernetová, Filip Gröger, Ondřej Nosálek, Ondřej Izdný, Markéta Procházková, Jitka Charvátová, Jana Vaculíková, Zbyněk Fric a Lenka Jurošková.
In the leading child role: Jasmína Fojtíková and Anastázie Landová
The show is at present on the programme of the Kalich Theatre.

Desire

Musical “Desire” by Mirjam and Daniel Landa is loosely based on the hit film,”Kvaska”, by the same scriptwriting couple.
The story of the musical backstage underwent many significant changes in its transition from movie screen to theatrical stage, also there is a lot more music on stage than in the film. In addition, dance also plays a big role on stage. “I want “Desire” to be to a large extent a dance performance. I envisage scenes with purely dancing. That is why I am collaborating with choreographer, Pavel Strouhal, who is among the absolute top in our country," says Director and composer of the theme music and libretto, Mirjam Landa.
Actors are accompanied by a live band on stage, featuring the elite of Czech musicians.
The opening night of “Desire” was on 15th September, 2008.

ROCKQUIEM

Rockquiem

On August 3, 2003, under the auspices of the capital city of Prague, the 2LANDA company premiered the scenic show ROCKQUIEM at Obecní dům (Municipal House) in Prague. This expressive scenic musical performance, a co-production of the Czech Republic, Italy and Germany, featured a live orchestra and dancing, and was sung in the original latin.

Rockquiem Rockquiem Rockquiem

Rockquiem presents the theme of Mozart's Requiem handled in a modern way, with the original structure of arrangements and harmonies kept intact. Just the name of the Czech art supervisor, Daniel Landa, and also the names of other participating artists (Stefan Wurz - rock instrumentation, Manfred Schweigkofler) reveal that this is a non-traditional approach - parts played by classical instruments were taken over by uncompromising electrical and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, and keyboard… However, the touch of classical music was of course kept, thanks to the gentle and appropriately integrated presentation of the classical instruments used by Mozart. But Rockquiem is also a visual show. The dramatic effect of the hour-long performance was ensured by a dance accompaniment and a magnificent setting in magic Art-nouveau style. Perfect lighting effects and pyrotechnics accentuated the atmosphere and the spectators' powerful experiences. The performance featured four soloists – top Czech singers such as Petr Kolář, Dušan Kollár, Lucia Šoralová and Anna Klamo, and four dancers accompanied by five rock musicians, twenty choral singers and thirty members of the Czech Chamber Philharmonic.

The CD Rockquiem can be purchased at www.kupcd.cz

DER RATTENFÄNGER – Krysař (Rat-catcher) in Klagenfurt

DER RATTENFÄNGER – Krysař (Rat-catcher) in Klagenfurt The first project of the 2LANDA Company was the staging of Daniel Landa’s musical, “Rat-catcher,” in Klagenfurt, Austria. This show is based VERY loosely on the Pied Piper of Hamelin story. A rat-catcher arrives in a town with a rat problem and agrees to help the citizens. In the meantime, he and Agnes, the Mayor’s daughter, fall in love. Rat-catcher has a magic flute to get rid of the rats. His music kills the rats. Unfortunately, a man is asleep in the barn when rat-catcher performs this task, so the man dies too.
Rat-catcher is blamed by many for the man’s death and has to leave town.
The town is divided into those against Krysař and those for him. All the while, the figure of Destiny has been keeping watch and is pleased that everything is going according to plan. Rat-catcher returns for Agnes and a fight breaks out, in which most of the townsfolk die. Agnes is attacked and rat-catcher calls for a halt to the fighting. Destiny appears and congratulates him. In return for his services, Agnes is allowed to live, but he has to give up his flute. His work is done. There is a lot of folk influence in the lovely music of this production.

This show was attended by 7 380 people in the Liegl Garage Theatre.
